That Little Manger Baby Wants To Invade Your Life! Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Perhaps you are familiar with the song that was written about this famous verse in the Bible. I have heard it many times this year already, and everytime I hear it, I have a neat worship experience with my God. At Christmas time, we are reminded over and over again about this little Baby Jesus, and how he came humbly into the world in that famous stable in Bethlehem, the town of David. Today, you might want to get alone with this God of the universe, and meditate on this verse. Here are some of my thoughts today on this verse. Unto us! That makes it very personal to me. Not to the mass of humanity out there, but to me. Even though I was not alive 2000 years ago, somehow in God's great plan, he thought of me when he sent his Son to that manger. Wow! That makes it seem real to me. A child is born! Even though God had prophesied about this birth of this child, He still took the world by surprise. Even Mary and Joseph were astonished that such a thing could take place. But the intervention of God Almighty into this young couple's lives, has impacted history for all time. If I had been God, I would have sent my son to a King or some great man in the world. I would have given him all the trappings of royalty. I would have made sure the world knew what I was doing. But that was not his plan. If God had chosen to do it that way, all of the scriptures that had been written about his birth, his life, and his death would have been wrong. God forgive us for not paying attention to your word. You have begged us to obey you so many times, and told us to tell the world about this Jesus, and we have responded with complacency. How many times this year have I been prompted to share the story with someone you have allowed across my path, and I did not do it. I was too busy, too scared, or just didn't care. Thank you for sending that little child. I ask you to help me tell the story from now on, when you give me that opportunity. Unto us a Son is given! Volumes have been written about this great fact. I will only say how thankful I am to the Lord for giving me his only Son. He is Lord, whether I choose to honor that in my life or not. Nothing can change that fact. This little Baby Jesus wants to invade my life. And the government shall be upon his shoulder!The disciples were confused regarding Jesus' death. They knew this prophecy, but felt His reign and kingdom on earth would be set up immediately (Mt. 16:21-23). Today we know that the future promises that this Baby Jesus will one day rule over the whole earth. And wonder of wonders, we will rule with Him! And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace! I could write an article by itself on these facts. He has been wonderful to me, and He is my present and future counselor, and I have seen this mighty God do wonders in my life. Today I am thankful that He is everlasting, and I do not have to put my trust in a temporary God. And today my dear friend, I pray He might give you peace. If you are troubled today, and have heartache today, remember that Baby Jesus ended his earthly stay on the cross, and He wants to invade your life. Won't you let him?
